Prelates, Kings, and people of the earth!
celebrate the glorious name of Raymond,
to whom the salvation of all mankind was an object of loving care.

His pure and spotless life reflected all the marvels of the mystic life;
and the light of every virtue shines brightly forth in him.

With admirable study and research,
he collects together the scattered Decrees of the Sovereign Pontiffs,
and all the sacred maxims of the ancient Canons,
so worthy to be handed down to all ages.

He bids the treacherous sea be firm,
and on her open waters carry him to land;
he spreads his mantle,
and his staff the mast,
he rides upon the waves.

O Mary, immaculate, and chaste are you
who has become the glowing gate of heaven.
O Mother of Christ,
so kind and most dear,
receive our devoted hymns of praise:
that our minds and bodies may be always chaste,
with fervent heart and tongue we now implore you.
Obtain for us,
through your sweetly sounding prayer,
pardon for ever.
O Mary, O tender Queen.

Amen.

Let us pray. O God,
by the leading of a star You manifested Your only begotten Son
to the gentiles on this day;
mercifully grant that we who know You by faith,
may be brought to contemplate the beauty of Your majesty.
Through the same Jesus Christ Your Son.

Lord God,
you blessed Elizabeth Ann Seton with gifts of grace
as wife and mother,
educator and foundress,
so that she might spend her life in service to your people.

Through her example and prayers,
may we learn to express our love for you
in love for our fellow men and women.

We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,
one God, for ever and ever.

Lord Jesus,
we humbly pray You to give us all a great reverence
and respect for Your most holy name.
Forgive us for ever having used the name of Jesus in vain,
or without due respect.

Help us remember how reverently and lovingly,
Your Mother Mary used the name of Jesus,
and how humbly Saint Joseph called You
and spoke to You by name.

Your name, dear Jesus,
is above every other name in heaven or on earth,
because You are the Jesus,
the Savior of all men.
You have saved us,
and You have told us to ask God anything in Your name,
and it would be granted.

We ask You,
humbly and confidently,
to bless us and our work,
and give us the rich treasures of Your Divine grace,
without which we cannot even so much as pronounce the name of Jesus.

Amen.

O God, grant us a deeper sense of fellowship with all living this,
our little brothers and sisters
to whom in common with us
you have given this earth as home.
We recall with regret that in the past
we have acted high-handedly
and cruelly in exercising our domain over them.
Thus, the voice of the earth
which should have risen to you in song
has turned into a groan of travail.
May we realize that all these creatures
also live for themselves and for you,
not for us alone.
They too love the goodness of life,
as we do, and serve you better
in their way than we do in ours.

Amen.

O God, who through the fruitful virginity
of Blessed Mary bestowed on the human race
he grace of eternal salvation, grant, we pray,
that we may experience the intercession of her,
through whom we were found worthy
to receive the author of life, our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son.
Who lives and reigns with you in the unity
of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever.

Amen.

December 31, 2019

Come, O Lord, to the help of Your people,
sustained by the intercession of Pope St. Sylvester,
so that, running the course of this present life
under Your guidance,
we may attain life without end.
Through our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son,
who lives and reigns with you
in unity of the Holy Spirit,
on God forever and ever.

Amen.

December 30, 2019

Lord, in this holy season of prayer, song and laughter,
we praise You for the great wonders You have sent us:
for shining star and angel's song,
for infant's cry in lowly manger.
We praise You for the Word made flesh in a little Child.
We behold his glory,
and are bathed in its radiance.

Be with us as we sing the ironies of Christmas,
the incomprehensible comprehended,
the poetry made hard fact,
the helpless Babe who cracks the world asunder.
Help us to rise bigger than we are.

Amen.

O most loving Jesus,
Who by Your beautiful virtues of humility,
obedience, poverty, modesty, charity, patience and gentleness,
and by the example of Your domestic life,
blessed with peace and happiness
the family You choose on earth,
in Your clemency look down upon this household,
humbly prostrate before You and imploring Your mercy.
Remember that this family belongs to You;
for to You we have in a special way dedicated and devoted ourselves.
Look upon us in Your loving kindness;
preserve us from danger;
give us help in time of need,
and grant us the grace to persevere
to the end in the imitation of Your Holy Family;
that having revered You
and loved You faithfully on earth,
we may bless and praise You eternally in heaven.

Amen.

December 28, 2019

We remember today, O God, the slaughter
of the holy innocents of Bethlehem by King Herod.
Receive into the arms of Your mercy
all innocent victims; and by Your great might
frustrated the designs of evil tyrants
and establish Your rule of justice, love, and peace;
through Your son, Jesus Christ who lives and reigns forever.

Amen.

December 27, 2019

Shed upon Your Church, O Lord,
the brightness of Your light, that we,
being illumined by the teaching of
Your apostle and evangelist John,
may also walk in the light of Your truth,
that at length we may attain to the fullness
of eternal life; through Jesus Christ our Lord,
who lives and reigns with You forever and ever.

Amen.

December 26, 2019

We give You thanks, O Lord of glory,
for the example of the first martyr Stephen,
who looked up to heaven and prayed
for his persecutors to Your Son Jesus Christ,
who stands at Your right hand; where he
lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit,
one God, in glory everlasting.

Amen.

December 25, 2019

Lord our God,
the heavens are the work of your hands,
the moon and the stars You made;
the earth and the sea,
and every living creature
came into being by Your word.
And all of us, too.
May this tree bring cheer to this house
though Jesus Christ Your good and holy Son,
who brings life and beauty to us and to our world.

Amen.

December 24, 2019

God of endless ages,
Father of all goodness,
we keep vigil for the dawn of salvation
and the birth of Your Son.
With gratitude we recall his humanity,
the life he shared with the sons of men.
May the power of his divinity help us answer his call
to forgiveness and life.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.

Amen.
