Comforted with the holy Mysteries
of Your precious Body and Blood,
we beseech You, O Lord,
that by the example of Saint John, Your Confessor,
we may be zealous to confess what he believed
and to put in practice what he taught.
Who lives and reigns with God the Father,
in the unity of the Holy Ghost, one God,
world without end.

Amen.

God of my life,
I welcome this new day.
It is Your gift to me,
the first day of the rest of my life.
I thank You for the gift of being alive this morning.
I thank You for the sleep which has refreshed me.
I thank You for the chance to begin life all over again.

Lord, this day is full of promise and of opportunity.
Help me to waste none of it.
This day is full of mystery and of the unknown.
Help me to face it without fear or anxiety.
This day is full of beauty and adventure.
Help me to be fully alive to it all.

O Queen of the Most Holy Rosary,
in these times of such brazen impiety,
manifest your power with the signs
of your ancient victories.

Obtain for me, the least of men,
kneeling before you in supplication,
the grace I need to live righteously upon earth,
in order to be numbered among the just in heaven.

In the company of all faithful Christians
throughout the world,
I salute you and acclaim you
as Queen of the Most Holy Rosary.

Queen of the Most Holy Rosary
pray for us.

Heavenly Father, strengthen our missionary commitment.
Help us to walk with you
and to live out your mission
in today's world.

Bind us to all men and women
of our time so that together
we may bring the Good News
to the ends of the earth.

Open our hearts
and our Christian communities
to the needy,
the afflicted,
the oppressed.
May we radiate the Living Christ
and transform our lives
in the hope of the Resurrection.

This prayer we make to you
who are living God now and forever.

Amen.

Divine Physician,
You infused Blessed Francis Xavier Seelos
with the gift of Your healing.
By the help of his prayers,
sustain in me the grace to know Your will
and the strength to overcome my afflictions.
For love of You, make me whole.
May I learn from the example of Father Seelos
and gain comfort from his patient endurance.

Amen.

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
and where there is sadness, joy.

O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek
to be consoled as to console;
to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive;
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.

Amen.

We praise You, Lord, for autumn:
for falling temperatures and morning chill,
trees turned gold and red, brown and orange,
falling leaves and blowing leaves,
the smell of burning leaves,
the joy of leaf-pile jumping.

We praise You, Lord, for autumn:
the interplay of outside temperatures
and inside warmth,
the promise of cider and pumpkin bread,
the blessing of blankets and sweaters.

We praise You, Lord, for autumn:
the beauty and hope in the change of season,
the promise that the coming of autumn
heralds another ending,
a new beginning,
and the wonder of another winter,
another spring,
another summer,
yet to come

Amen.

Dear Angel at my side,
my good and loyal friend,
you have been with me since the moment I was born.
You are my own personal guardian,
given me by God as my guide and protector,
and you will stay with me till I die.
He who created you and me
gave me to you as your particular charge.
You assisted in great joy at my baptism,
when I became part of the Mystical Body of Christ,
and was made a member of the household of God
and an heir of heaven.
You saw the dangers that beset my path,
and, if I sinned,
it was in spite of you.
You envied me when Christ came to me in Holy Communion.
Even though you probably were there
among the angels that adored Him
the night that He was born,
you have not been able to receive Him as I can.
O, help me to appreciate these gifts!
Help me to realize, as you do,
with every fiber of my being,
that to serve Christ is to be a King!
Help me steadfastly to avoid evil
and do good and always guard my soul from sin.
Protect me as well from physical evils
as I go about my daily work.
You will be with me all my life,
and at the hour of my death.
Help me to face death bravely, patiently,
with great love of God,
knowing that it is only through death
that I can come to Him in heaven!
Then, come with me to my Judge,
and when the hour of my salvation comes,
take me home to my Father, God.

Amen.

My Lord and my God
I have realized that whoever undertakes to do anything
for the sake of earthly things
or to earn the praise of others deceives himself.
Today one thing pleases the world,
tomorrow another.
What is praised on one occasion
is denounced on another.
Blessed be You,
my Lord and my God,
for You are unchangeable for all eternity.
Whoever serves You faithfully to the end
will enjoy life without end in eternity.

Amen.

O Lord, show Your mercy to me
and gladden my heart.
I am like the man on the way to Jericho
who was overtaken by robbers,
wounded and left for dead.
O Good Samaritan, come to my aid.
I am like the sheep that went astray.
O Good Shepherd, seek me out
and bring me home in accord with Your will.
Let me dwell in Your house
all the days of my life
and praise You forever and ever
with those who are there.

Out of the depths I cry,
Lord, please heed my voice.
Look, Lord, how I sigh
to hear you and rejoice.

Out of the depths I call,
Lord, forget my sin.
Save me from this fall,
strengthen my faith within.

Out of the depths I pray,
Lord, in you I trust.
Pleading all the day,
raise me from the dust.

Out of the depths I shout,
let your mercies stream.
With me there is no doubt,
You, Lord, can redeem.

With that profound humility which the Faith itself inspires in me,
O my God and Savior Jesus Christ,
true God and true man, I love You with all my heart,
and I adore You who are hidden here,
in reparation for all the irreverences and sacrileges
which You received in the most adorable Sacrament of the Altar.
I adore You, O my God,
if not so much as You are worthy to be adored
nor so much as I am bound to do,
yet as much as I am able;would that I could adore You
with that perfect worship which the Angels in heaven
are enabled to offer You.
May You, O my Jesus, be known, adored,
loved and thanked by all men at every moment
in this most holy and Divine Sacrament.

Amen.

Almighty God,
who called your servant Vincent de Paul
to serve you in the person of those in need:
Grant that we, following his example,
may fulfil your commandments
by defending and supporting the poor,
and by loving you with all our hearts,
through Jesus Christ our Lord,
who lives and reigns with you
and the Holy Spirit,
one God, forever and ever.

Amen.

Oh glorious martyrs of Christ,
Saints Cosmas and Damian,
you gave your lives for the love of God,
benefiting your fellow man, and crowning your martyrdom
with an open and loyal profession of your faith.
You taught us to love God above all things,
and to love our fellow man as ourselves,
professing always, and without fear,
the religion of Jesus.

Augmenting amongst the faithful populace many miracles,
you are glorious indeed.
Through your intercession,
which brings about deliverance of these miracles,
we pray to you for your aid in all things.
May your patronage never be far from us
in the illness of our body and soul.

Oh great protectors,
Saints Cosmas & Damian,
assist us with your love and free us from all evils.

Amen.

Lord, I know that your mercy
for those who have died,
and your love for each and every one of us
is vaster than the entire universe,
an immense grandeur of love.

Yet you see our smallest sorrow,
our tiniest tear, our briefest fear for tomorrow.

There is not the tiniest bird in the sky
that falls to the ground
but you know it, Lord, and care.

An how much more than us,
every hair on our head is counted
how much more you share our sorrow.

The heart that believes
is the heart that grieves sweetly,
knowing it is always in your love.

Now and forever.

Amen.
