Let me pause as I begin this new day to give it to You, Lord. Before the tumult of activities breaks in; before breakfast plates crash through my still sleepy mind; for this last moment in my bed, thank you, Lord. Let me hold Your promise of new life. Keep me from slipping back for I know that what is forgiven is as if it never were. Each new day, Your grace gives me a fresh start to walk in Your light again. May the Lord support us all the day long, till the shades lengthen and the evening comes, and the busy world is hushed, and the fever of life is over, and our work is done. Then in His mercy may He give us a safe lodging, and a holy rest, and peace at the last. Amen.

If my spirit that is troubled and stricken by passions suffers from the painful burden of sadness and weeping, if you see your child overwhelmed by misfortune, O gracious Virgin Mary, let me find rest in your motherly embrace. But alas, already the last day is quickly approaching. Banish the demon to the infernal depths, and stay closer, dear Mother, to your aged and erring child.

We ask your maternal care for our Holy Father who works to reconcile the nations in peace. We seek your guidance for our Head of State and other Leaders as they strive for world peace. Thank you dear Lord, for protecting and preserving me during the night and for giving me this new day. Good morning Heavenly Father, and thank you for the glory of the sun. And thank you for the health I have to get my duty done. I shall devote the hours of this golden day to You, by honoring Your Holy Name in everything I do. I shall pursue my daily art without complaint or fear and spend my every effort to be friendly and sincere. I know there have been many days that I have wasted away. But this is one that I will try to make Your special day. And so once more, Good Morning Heavenly Father. And please depend on me because I want to honour you for all eternity. Amen.
